Spicy Indian Chickpeas Curry(Chole masala).

Chickpeas Curry is a Classic Indian Authentic Curry prepared with White Chickpeas and some Indian spices.It is found all over India in almost all restaurants.Special recipes like Tikki Chole ,Samosa Chole ,Chana chaat are world famous in which the main ingredient is Chickpeas.It tastes good as well as it is healthy.It is highly nutritious and it contains 25% protein. If you want to lose some extra fat in your body you should choose a diet of Chickpeas i.e. have chole curry with less oil with two Indian breads(roti)  for lunch and replace it with 1 Indian bread in dinner.                                      




This Chickpeas curry is made with less oil and much onions so it is best for diet conscious people.Those who are thin and want to gain weight ,they can take it with some extra butter and fresh cream.

Serves-4
Style:Authentic Indian Curry
Ingredients:
Chickpeas -250 gms or 10 ounces

Refined Oil-2 tablespoon
4 Big Onions
1 big Tomato
10 cloves of garlic
1 small piece of ginger(10 gms)
6 Red Chili
Turmeric Powder-2 teaspoon
Indian curry powder-1 tablespoon
Fennel seeds(saunf)-1 teaspoon
Salt to taste
1 small cup water
Chopped Coriander(dhania) leaves 1 teaspoon
Crushed Green Cardamom(Elachi)-1 teaspoon.


Steps To Prepare

1.Soak the Chickpeas overnight .





2.Boil the Chickpeas with pinch of salt and backing soda till it get tender.




3.Cut  2 onions,Garlic,Ginger tomato and red chili.




4.Make a paste of the ingredients mentioned above.




5.Chop rest 2 onions.


6.Heat oil in a pan.Add the chopped onions.



7.Add fennel(saunf) seeds.Fry it by adding pinch of salt.



8.Fry the onions till golden brown.


9.Add the paste made of onions ,tomato etc...


10.Add Turmeric Powder and Indian Curry Powder.Fry for 5 minutes.


11.Add boiled chickpeas to the gravy.


12.Mix the gravy and chickpeas properly.fry for 5 minutes by adding 1 small cup of water.


13.Add chopped coriander leaves and crushed elachi powder.


14.The dish(chickpeas curry) is ready to eat.




Best Served with Steamed Rice and Onions.

  4. I tried this recipe yesterday. very tasty, but I garnished with 1/2 tsp garam masala and lime juice. goes well with chapatis.
