Dal Papaya(Amrutbhanda dali)

Dal papaya is a typical Odishi dish.The mustard flavor of the dal is found only in east India like in Odisha or West Bengal.As dal is the best protein provider in our daily food,it must be included in our daily diet.It is one of the Healthy recipe because it is cooked only in 1 teaspoon refined oil.Include it in your daily diet and see the difference.
Preparation Time(approx):20 mins
Cooking time (approx.): 15 mins
Style: Indian Vegetarian

Arhar Dal-150 gms
Refined oil -1 Teaspoon
Raw(Green) Papaya -1 small
Mustard Seeds- 1 Teaspoon
Green Chili-4 Pieces
Turmeric(Haldi) Powder-2 Teaspoon
Salt to taste

Steps to prepare.
1.Peel the Raw papaya and cut the papaya into small cubes.
2.Wash the dal and papaya and cook  it in a pressure cooker  with the turmeric and salt in a medium flame.
3.Remove it from the fire when you get two whistles.
4.Take a pan,add 1 teaspoon refined oil,add sliced green chili,add 1 teaspoon mustard seed and make it splutter.
5.Add the boiled dal to the tadka and cook it for 3 mins.

Tip -Cook the dal in medium flame to get the best flavour. 
Best Served with Steamed rice or Indian Paranthas or Rotis.
